Pamela Girling MCOptom

Pamela began her optical experience shortly after leaving school when she joined a local lens manufacturer. Whilst there she spent three years studying to be a dispensing optician. She is now a practising optometrist and working mother of two living near Leeds, England. She studied optometry at Bradford University where she graduated with 2:1 honours. She undertook her professional examinations (which she passed at the first attempt) with one of the UK's leading optical retailers, where she was consistently a top producer for over eight years.

Now working as a locum, she has great opportunity to observe different practices and working environments and draw on the best of them all.

Nick Girling

As a professional behaviour trainer Nick has twenty years' sales and sales training experience. He began coaching Pamela in simple behavioural and communication techniques that enhanced her performance non-clinically as soon as she qualified.

Working for Krauthammer International, in 2004 he wrote a three day behavioural communication skills training course specifically for optometrists called The Krauthammer International Optometry Development Programme. This course has been awarded fourteen CET points by the GOC. He also constructed a three day programme for dispensing opticians / managers which runs in tandem with the Optometry Development Programme. He trains and coaches people at all levels both at home and abroad.
